About Dr. Steve Dingman

Dr. Steve Dingman is a Drug Safety Physician at UCB, Inc, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since February 2010, Dr. Dingman has served in the Global Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance branch of the corporation. He is a member of the global Product Lifecycle Team and the Clinical Sub Team, both of which focus on sleep and movement disorders. Dr. Dingman also provides medical reviews and assessments for global investigational new drugs. This entails the management of local regulatory assessment for reporting to the FDA and Health Canada, as well as post-marketing safety reports. Dr. Steve Dingman relies on a deep breadth of knowledge and experience gained within the field to produce quality results for UCB.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Dingman spent over six years at SRA International, Inc, an organization involved in solving complex civil government, national security, and global health problems. As Project Manager, Dr. Dingman oversaw all facets of clinical trials, including financial, technical, and logistic issues. Within two years he was promoted to Executive of Business Development. In his new role, Dr. Dingman focused on the identification, development, and maturation of strategic business opportunities and relationships while providing medical and technical insight. He was again promoted in late 2006 to Medical Director. In this capacity, Dr. Dingman was responsible for various aspects of pharmacovigilance, medical monitoring, drug development safety, and writing and reviewing scientific documents and regulatory submissions.

In 2008, Dr. Dingman was appointed to Senior Director of Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance at SRA. He remained involved in similar global health issues while the scope of his work expanded. Dr. Dingman was responsible for the management of SRA’s pharmacovigilance operations through North America, Europe, and the rest of the world. He continued in this capacity until joining UCB.

Dr. Steve Dingman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from North Carolina State University. He received his MD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Dingman possesses certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support and NIH Human Participants Protection. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, and the American Diabetes Association.
